Server Time Zone

Introduction

Server time zone is a new configuration introduced in IFS Cloud 24R1. This gives the possibility to set the time zone that should be treated as the server time zone of the IFS Cloud installation. This must be the time zone the database server is using (database server's operating system's time zone). This is a mandatory parameter for the IFS Cloud 24R1 and later versions.

How to set the Server Time Zone

The Server Time Zone can be set using the 'global.serverTimeZone' installer parameter when the installer runs for the IFS Cloud upgrade. The value for this parameter should be a valid time zone. For example, 'Asia/Colombo'.

The server time zone cannot be changed once it is initially set. The system is designed to prevent any overrides through the installer to avoid accidental modifications. Changing the time zone of an existing system is not recommended, as it may cause inconsistencies in previously stored data. This restriction ensures data integrity and prevents unintended issues related to time zone changes.
